Web standards are important for your websites speed as browsers use these standards to render the code that makes up your website into the viewable design that you spend hours labouring over for yourself and clients. When errors are present in your code it takes longer for a browser to render your webpage and make it look like you wish it to.
With the web standards advisor you can access both the W3C HTML validator and the W3C CSS validator from within Dreamweaver and produces a HTML report with suggestions and fixes.
Now your thinking yeah yeah why do I need this when I can use the validators online, well thats the best thing you can select how the Web standards advisor does it's thing and you have a number of options like Current page, All open pages, Selected files in Files panel, Specified folder and the Entire site.

Ok so if it was just one page at a time then we would recommend you use the validators online but as you can scan all the pages in a site then we gave it 3 stars.
