The CSS Menu Writer Dreamweaver extension allows you to insert a CSS Menu into your website in about 5 minutes its simple to use, you just follow the wizard like interface and just make your selections and move on to the next tab and repeat.
In no time youv'e got a fully functional menu on your site, examples of which you can see on this very website. Below we will show you the various options with CSS Menu writer. When you select a menu on page the properties panel will change to show three options:
1. Edit Menu.
2. Edit Contents.
3. Edit Theme.
1. Edit Menu
When you select the edit menu option or insert a menu into a page you are presented with the panel below where you can select from the various presets, whether a horizontal menu or a vertical menu and the basic themes that come with the package.
2. Edit Contents
When you select the edit contents option you are presented with the panel below and this is where you write out what the individual buttons say and associate links to those buttons. Its a very intuative interface but it can be a bit clumsy at times.
3. Edit Theme
When you select the edit theme option you are presented with the panel below, this panel has three sub panels 1. Box. 2. Type. 3. Design.
The box panel controls the size of the box, margins and padding. The type panel controls the type used the size and the alignment of the type. The design panel controls the colours, borders and background images associated with the buttons in your CSS menu writer menu.

Good extension, so why have we rated it three stars?
CSS menu writer is a good Dreamweaver extension but it sometimes goes wrong with internet explorer 6(but hey what doesn't) and the limited number of presets(while not a problem for the more seasoned web designers, it limits the extension for newbies).
These factors lead to the average rating of this extension.
